In 2015 two apprentices of the Berufsgenossenschaftliches Universitätsklinikum Bergmannsheil GmbH take part on a job-based stay abroad in Great Britain. In course of the stay abroad the two apprentices had on the one hand increased their English-level and on the other hand they had depressed their job-based knowledge. Because of the good experiences of the participants in 2015, the Bergmannsheil plans to enlarge the stay abroad and as a result of that the stay abroad goes on in 2016. Apprentices in the third year of the apprenticeship in the Human Resources Department and in the health care sector, take part on the stay abroad in 2015. It was the first time that the Bergmannsheil and the European Centre for Training and Regional Cooperation (ECTARC) in Llangollen/Wales were working together. The participants in 2015 take part on the stay abroad in Great Britain (Wales) for a time period of six weeks. In the first two weeks the participants take an active part in a language course, which was organized by the ECTARC. After that the apprentices worked four weeks in departments which are based on the particular apprenticeships. It should be noted that the language course as well as the four week internship was and is a benefit for the apprentices. During the stay abroad the apprentices had to work with English correspondence and they had to debate in English with their team-mates and business partner. Furthermore they get to know how companies in Great Britain work and how they deal with different business topics, so that they could use their experiences during their apprenticeship in the Bergmannsheil. The acquired skills were noticed in the Europass Mobility, which both apprentices get during an official event of the Bergmannsheil. Furthermore the stay abroad will be verified in the education certificate of both apprentices. Also ECTARC wrote a certificate for the apprentices which confirm the acquired language skills in the English language on the basis of the Common European Framework. At least the two apprentices of the Bergmannsheil get a certificate of their skills which they got during the work placement. All in all the apprentices of the Bergmannsheil had and have a profit because of the stay abroad.
