Bildungshaus Schloss Retzhof (Retzhof Castle), an adult education center of the Styrian Government, is presently the only fully accessible education center in Austria. It is important for us to include all people in our program and give them the opportunity of participation in activities and offer of our institution. Therefore our effort and aspiration aims to establish a fully accessible and inclusive thinking institution. At the moment we are a best-practice organisation for Austria in this area. However: We know referring to this, there is still a lot to do!In this project we ask the question, what adult education can add to a successful inclusion of people, who came as refugees to Austria. We already started to establish a network and organised a symposia, where we asked this question. But this are very first steps into a direction, which we would like to focus strengthenend. As a very interesting approach to involve the population of our surrounding could be Community Education. That is why two Job-Shadowings will take place in English-speaking countries, because there the approach is more common and established. One of our staff-members will finish her studies in adult education in autumn, which makes it possible for her to take part at the process of the organisation for one month, where she can observe and document strategies and processes for a longer term. Our staff-member from the marketing area will focus on spreading possibilities in this area. To get to know organisations, which already work on on inclusion of people who take refuge, we choose Germany, Sweden, Italy and Bulgaria, because we already found some institutions in our research, which are activ in current projects and which are associated members of the European Association of the Education of Adults (EAEA). Seminars in this specific theme relating to inclusion, leadership, marketing, projectmanagement and quality management are limited discoverable, which is why Job-Shadowings have been choosen in this project. All participants of this project are spezialised in different areas and will focus in their experience abroad in this specific area. The project is increasing the international and regional orientation of Retzhof, because both level will be associated with each other. Beside the extention of the networks and the successive cooperations, we follow the aim of qualitiy development on all levels and we would like to establish ourselves as informationplatform of the region!
