38 youngsters aged between 18 and 25 years old and coming from 6 different European countries such as Italy, Portugal, Romania, Hungary, Poland and Netherlands will meet in Gandellino, small town in the north of Italy and close to Bergamo and Milano for the international youth exchange “BYM-Be Your Media” from the 5th to the 14th of September 2015. The project will speak about the topic of the media and social media and it has the aim to involve youngsters that are at their first international experience and that don’t have a high level of English. Especially, during the youth exchange, youngsters coming from different realities will have the opportunity to compare the mediatic situation and media consumption existing in their own country and in particular to reflect about the social media reality and how they are contibuiting in an anthropological change about the ways of news’ creation and consumption. Finally, participants will have the opportunity to gain basic competences for what concern the procedures to follow in order to create a news. They will take a challenge with the development of teamworks that will help them to improve their own ability in the teamwork, taking decisions, respecting other’s idea and finding compromises. The whole youth exchange will be characterized by continous teamwork and discussion moments, not only during the activities but also during international working groups and reflection groups. All the activities will be done using the tools and methods of non formal education. The youth exchange could be divided in 3 main moments: 1) creation of the group 2) activities about the topic of the project 3) evaluation. The first part of creation of the group will be characterized by introduction and meeting activities such as name games, integration games and team buildings; in the central part of the project we will discuss about the topic of the project with teamworks, presentations, workshops, sketches and participants will undertake the commitment of realizing a group project that will be about the creation of a news and its spread through only one medium that they will choose in the group. The results’ presentation of the project together with a short presentation of the program Erasmus+ will be done at Informa Giovani in Milan and this represents the visibility moment of the exchange. FInally there will be the final part of the project of evaluation fo the exchange, where we will discuss about possible future projects between the partner organisations.
