In 20-27 August 2014 “Be the Best Citizen” is an international project under the Erasmus Plus framework which aims to raise awareness of the values and the rights of EU Citizenship and share the activities among youth workers, volunteers and youngsters to implement in their own communities in order to involve the young people active citizenship. The project explores non-formal learning methods, social media tools and intercultualral learning to support participants in the learning process among participants in the meeting days which will include a wide range of activities such as group work, presentations, brainstorming, debates, workshops and personal assignments in order to provide space to share opinions, knowledge, tools and know-how, useful in youth work. Project will be hosted by the Turkish youth organization "Çanakkale Youth Initiative" and it will take place in Çanakkale,Turkey ; it involves 22 participants, supported by two trainers and a friedly staff from our group. Coming from 6 youth organization of different European Union countries:Turkey, Romania, Greece, Italy, Spain and Germany that are cooperating in order to give young people the opportunity to reflect about their rights and role in the society, helping the construction of a European citizenship feeling without frontiers. Given that European Union is currently working on his enlargement our project wants to promote active participation of young people either in local community than at European level, discuss about European Citizenship values, rights and policies and stimulate creativity and sense of initiative. The participants will have the chance to share their experience, to debate and plan together, discovering the needs of their communities; they will work on simulations, lead and be leaded by each other, acting in a comfortable enviroment that will facilitate their cross-cultural learning through creative thinking and non-formal methods which will be implemented according to the needs of the participants and youth organizations involved. Therefore, it's a great opportunity to promote Erasmus Plus programme in our communities and give a chance to youth organization to start developing future projects.
