Be Graffiti: Regards croisés de jeunes belges et français
Date du début: 2 mai 2016, Date de fin: 1 nov. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

In April 2015, some workers of the AMO CIAJ team went on a journey with a group of teenagers. Thereafter, this groups expressed the will to repeat the experience. Because CIAJ works on demand, we agreed to pursue their project by integrating the dimension of the "exchange."On the portal OTLAS, we learned that the Federation of Rural Homes Vosges was looking for a partner to build a project of youth exchanges for the 2016 summer. We found that this association and this region were interesting in view of our common features:we share the same language which is French, members of our groups are teenagers, our regions have both a rich industrial past, etc.The differences inherent in our organizations also represent an opportunity: the French teens of the FDFR88 live in rural areas while the Belgians live in a town. They do not live in the same social environment. The mix of a group of rural young people and city dwellers could bring an interesting exchange. The confrontation and the learning of this difference are essential in the concept of exchange: they will stimulate the curiosity of the participants to discover other peoples, other cultures, they will allow everyone to realize the conveyed and mutual stereotypes and to demystify them. Finally, we thought about the distance between our two organizations: about 330 kms. It's close and far at the same time. Indeed, teenagers of CIAJ AMO as those of 88 FDFR can't travel easily. This project could be an intermediate step to go towards the construction of another project which would be realized further away.Partners of this youth exchange, the Departmental Federation of Rural Homes Vosges and the AMO CIAJ are working to develop youth policy in their respective territories. This project will allow to exchange and to share our cultures. We want to change our way of thinking and the one of our teenagers. Through the realization of a pictorial work (graffiti), the French and the Belgian teenagers will discover another culture and another know-how. They will also learn to express their ideas and they will be able to work together. The group will be mixed and composed of a dozen Belgian teenagers and a dozen French teenagers aged between 13 and 18 years.Activities during the stay will be mainly focused on the discovery of Belgium and its culture as well as the learning of the artistic technique that is graffiti. The main objectives of this exchange are:- The participation of teenagers and the expression of their ideas and opinions;- Intercultural awareness;- Mutual understanding;- Cooperation between teenagers;- The learning of an artistic technique. The entertainment program will be built by and for young people, so that they are involved and responsible in this project. It will foster:- Involving young people in the entertainment program, the daily life of the stay;- The development of their capacities;- The intercultural dimension of the stay (mutual presentation of their culture, thoughts and activities around their shared experiences);- The initiative and expression of the teenagers (through the preparation of activities during the exchange and through the creation of a collective work).Expected results:Expected impact on the participants of our exchange:- On the teenagers: developing new skills (communication in the mother tongue, learning to learn social and civic values, sensitivity and cultural expressions, techniques...); increased energy, development of new initiatives;- On the workers: strengthening and development of skills by experimenting with new working methods including interculturalism.Expected impact on the project's external partners:- On institutional referents of youth policies of our countries and regions involved: renewal and development of projects in favor of partnerships for youth;- On our respective networks: development of projects with an European dimension, renewed energy networks.Expected impact on the beneficiaries of restitution in each country:- Awareness of the specific features and opportunities which are represented by the realization of a youth project with an European dimension, development of local initiatives.
