Regions participating in project have many interesting objects and institutions, which are condition for successful realization of mining tourism, for example museum, mineralogy collection, old mining areas, unique Technologies, mining archives etc. Despite of it, cross border tourism between Hungary and Slovakia is lower than is its potential. This fact was first motive for realization of common cross border project, which task is to contribute to growth of tourism in this cross border area.Project will develop activities of mining tourism in riverside of rivers Hnilec (Smolník, Gelnica a mining villages in valley of river), Slaná (Rožňava a surrounding) Hornád a Torysa (Košice, Barca, Nižná Myšľa) and in Miškolc and historical mining towns Telkibánya a Rudabánya.Project will be realized in accordance to geographical, socio-economical and cultural environment.By implementation of project will be developed tourism in both regions, will be prepared new modern interesting products and services. In cross border cooperation we realize propagation of this products and services and through this activities will be increased awareness of tourist about regions and countries. Achievements: The regions of Miskolc and Košice have many museums, mineralogy collections, old mining areas, unique technologies and mining archives, which are the basic conditions for the successful establishment of mining tourism. Through the project, a new modern interesting product (mining route) and related services were created, including centres for the study of historical mining documents and a visitor centre network in Miskolc, Rudabánya, Telkibánya and Gelnica. The project helped to map the mining locations and remains of historical mining activities in the countryside nearby mining towns. Based on this information, a geographical information system was created.
