General objectives: (1) creation of a basis for systematic cross-border co-operation among educators of the Baltic region in the area of environmental education; (2) increase in environmental awareness of local communities and involvement in activities aimed at the improvement of natural and cultural environment of teachers and pupils; (3) strengthening the position of education for sustainable development in contacts and cross-border co-operation of the Baltic countries; (4) creation of the area for understanding based on common concern for the condition of the natural environment contributing towards the liquidation of possible prejudices and conflicts.Direct objectives: (1) training of Polish and Lithuanian environmental education co-ordinators who conduct educational activities in green schools and other environmental education facilities; (2) sharing experience concerning common principal natural and cultural problems; (3) demonstration and promotion of good practices and examples of innovative solutions at the European level; (4) development of bilingual electronic multimedia educational material; (5) publications in the form of Green Academy Newsletters and (6) acquisition of experience in the application of ICT technologies in environmental education.
