The name of our project is “Don’t Be Addicted, Be Free!”. We want to carry out this project in order to show the damage of increasing use of drugs, and to raise people’s, especially young people’s awareness on this issue. Drugs not only give harm to people who use them, but also they give great harm to the people around them. Our target audience includes people of all ages, especially for the youth of school age. Our goal is to make young people realize how dangerous these substances that are used by lots of young people are, and to prevent the use of these substances. The main goal we want to achieve with this project is to raise awareness for as many the drug addicts as we can reach within Europe, and to give information to people about it.We are going to carry out this project as an independent Youth Group called “YOUNG VOLUNTEERS”. The other partners are an independent Youth Group named SOFA Ventures from Holland and a public organization named Azienda Sanitaria Unica Regionale from Italy. The young people who are involved in our project are those having social responsibility, voluntary for the young society, having good dialogues with people, and considering solidarity as a responsibility. The ages of the participants of our group range between 18-29, excluding the group leader. The participant teams are composed of 2 group leaders and 8 young people. Our project partners are already famous for their campaigns against the use of drugs and lots of kinds of harmful substances. In the project that we are going to carry out, the methods of team work and job-sharing are going to be used. Among all young people in the project team, together with our partners; the task distribution is made in accordance with their interests, capabilities, wishes and expectations. We care about the adaptation of the theoretical knowledge learned at schools to the real life, and the active participation of the young people in social responsibility projects. This project is expected to contribute to young people's social and personal development. In this project, we consider that helping young people who are addicted to drugs by adding colour to their lives through activities such as offering presents, organizing an event of solidarity, doing graffiti activity, doing sports together, spending time at an amusement park, recognizing our cultures mutually, etc. In all our project activities, the following methods are going to be used;- Intercultural learning,- Explanatory learning through presentations and seminars,- Brainstorming, discussions, delivering ideas,- Permanent learning by doing and having fun,- Visual, auditory and learning by doing-living, - Learning through observation in the real space,- Social learning through kinaesthetic skills,- Learning through technological skillsAs for our participants' profile, we see that they are selected according to the following features. They should;- have been involved in activities related to our project,- be taking part in a youth project for the first time,- be aged between 13-30,- Partially be good in English,- be tended to create products in technological sense.Our project activities will last 7 days. During this period, seminars are going to be given to the participants about the subject of our project, apart from the activities stated above. As stated in the activity plan, young people will take active roles in each stage of the project. These roles will be in the form of being listeners, viewers, project managers and the responsible people in charge of the project. In addition to taking place as team members in a youth project supported by EU, having a social and cultural sharing and gaining awareness of the EU will also honour our group members. Moreover, the participants will recognize new cultures, habits, lifestyles; and they will have the opportunity to strengthen values such as friendship and solidarity. Our project will last 6 months in total amount of time. The main activities are planned as a 7-day-period. The activity flow will take place between the dates 18.07.2016 – 24.07.2016 in the city of Amsterdam in Netherlands.At the end of this project, we will have had the success of reaching some people who are suffering from drug addiction, and of contributing to them so that they can cling to life. Also, we will have succeeded to draw young people’s, their parents’ and the society’s attention to this terrible situation. In this way, we will have provided an awakening in people’s minds against this vital danger, and we will have provided a significant amount of information about how to struggle against drug addiction. In the long run, we will keep the continuity of the impacts of our project through the website which is dedicated to our project. It is going to be an environment that we are going to share all the activities before, during and after the project so that we can reach as many people as possible in the continuing course of time.
