The project focuses on practical environmental sustainability and has been initiated by a group of youth who want to teach young people that sustainable development and ecology can be fun and cool. The applicant group already have experience with agrarian and forest activities, but limited knowledge of the project theme. They therefore plan to engage a coach from Change The World. They want to make an effort to include young people with social obstacles and immigrant backgrounds in the project, and are doing so to a certain degree. The first phase of the project will be for the group members to gain knowledge, both theoretical and practical, and engage with related projects to exchange experiences. Consequently, they wish to hold interactive seminars on themes like ecological farming, renewable energy, ecological building materials and alternative economic systems. The main part of the project will be practical work and experimenting with methods for environmental sustainability - what works? One area of particular focus is combining traditional methods and new technology. Having experimented, the group wants to evaluate and make their results know. Learning how to function as a team, improving decisionmaking abilities and gaining a better understanding of being global citizens are major motivating factors.
