Gimnazjum no 81 is a state, secondary school with over five hundred students. The quality of teaching in Gimnazjum no 81 is regularly monitored and it stands out in the district of Bemowo, Warsaw and the whole country. Participating in a number of innovative projects and receiving numerous certificates which confirm high standards of education is the school’s strength. Both the students and the teachers take part in a lot of extra - curricular activities and projects. The audit, which was carried out in 2015, proves a high level of education in our school. The school wants to continue its development by participating in international programmes. Our goal is to align educational opportunities of our students with the students from more advanced EU countries. To make it happen, we would like to improve our professional qualifications by involvement in KA1 of Erasmus +. The main goal is to upgrade the quality of our educational offer and its prestige thanks to creating bilingual English classes.Project’s goals of “Let’s be bilingual! Let’s teach in a modern way!”:1.Improving knowledge of English which will lead to obtaining teachers with the appropriate command of English in order to teach in bilingual classes;2.Creating bilingual classes3.Using ICT tools in more effective ways in teaching, communication and school management4.Improving professional qualifications in the areas of teaching, training as well as quality management5.Cooperation both in the area of teacher –teacher relationship as well as teacher -student relations6.Obtaining a better quality of professionals which will benefit our students7.Increasing the motivation and job satisfaction in our daily work, increasing the possibility of professional development8.Obtaining a better understanding of cultural, language and social diversity9.Implementing innovative curricular programmes10.Future participation in European educational projects within eTwinning and KA2The project participants (13 people) and the main objective within teachers’ mobility: IT and art teacherPolish and education of journalism teacherGerman teacherThe deputy headmaster and history teacherGerman teacher, who will become a geography teacher Religion and art and craft teacherPhysics teacherTwo teachers of PEPhysics and Maths teacherMusic and Art teacherEnglish and German teacherThere are 6 form teachers among the participantsThe main activities:1.Obtaining higher command of English2.Improving using ICT tools3.Participating in various methodological and CLIL courses in the fields of the subjects which will be taught in bilingual classes both in English and Polish4.Participating in courses which are focused on CLIL and creative approach to teaching5.Observing work in EU schoolsMethods of project implementation:1.Analysis (connected with mobility) of individual needs of project participants and establishing them in a Participant’s File, monitoring the file online during the courses2.School’s catalogue of good practice available online as a tool to gather and exchange obtained experience while participating in the programme.3.Sharing obtained knowledge, experience and abilities within school’s departments4.Implementing new methods of communication, teaching and management obtained during the programme as long as they are adequate to the school’s needs5.Monitoring the classes lead by teachers taking part in the project “Let’s be bilingual! Let’s teach in a modern way! ’which should verify the correct implementation of the goals written in the Participant’s File.6.Active participation in eTwinning.The predicted results and its influence:-The increase of knowledge of English language for all project participants-Creating bilingual English classes; elements of English will be present in teaching a number of subjects-Increasing cultural openness within the whole school community-Increasing the quality of school’s work by implementing methods, standards and prevailing practices in EU countries-Increasing the methodological qualifications of teachers-Implementing new methods of teaching and work organization by using ICT tools-Creating the catalogue of good practice and a project journal online-Preparing to KA2 Erasmus+- More frequent and effective cooperation between teachers, support and partnership- Participating in international educational projects and sports meetings- Improving educational results of both gifted and students with special needs thanks to implementing new methods of workPotential long –term benefits:Openness, respect, cooperation, giving support as well as benefiting from itUsing European educational resources and enriching our mutual workIncreasing the school’s prestige with evidence of certificates.
