“B.R.I.D.G.E. - BRing Inclusion anD Get quality in youth Exchanges"

The project “B.R.I.D.G.E. - BRing Inclusion anD GEt quality in youth exchanges” will bring together 24 youth workers, youth leaders, representatives of different organizations from Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Georgia, Armenia, and Moldova. The project is implemented in cooperation between partner countries from above mentioned countries. The training course activity will take place in August 2016 and will gather in Riga youth workers, youth leaders and NGOs representatives aged 18 and over, implementing youth projects with young people with or without previous experience of work with mixed-ability groups, but having strong dedication to introduce mixed ability approach in youth exchange projects. The project responds to the lack of knowledge and expertise among youth workers and youth leaders in project partner countries on organisation of international youth mobility projects with mixed-ability groups of young people, particularly youth exchanges, using non-formal learning and inclusive approach. Corresponding to this gap, believing in power and effectiveness of non-formal education, international youth mobility projects within Erasmus+ and mixed ability approach, Applicant and partners decided to organise this international training project for youth workers, youth leaders and representatives of different organisation to enable them to organise qualitative youth exchange projects with participation of youth mixed-ability groups, thus, developing capacity of organisations in the field of inclusive youth work and indirectly contributing to increase of participation of young people with and without disability. The methods to be used during the project will be of non-formal and intercultural nature and will include interactive workshops, role games and simulations, individual and group work, plenary sessions, cases studies, treasure hunts, meetings with organisations, reflection and learning groups, work with quality criteria, social activities, partnership and project idea development etc. The project will contribute to the development of the competences of youth workers, youth leaders and representatives of organisations working or willing to work with mixed ability groups of young people internationally, particularly through youth exchange projects. The project will provide participants and represented organisations with skills and tools to further develop and imply inclusive approach in international activities with youngsters from participants respective cities/places. In a long-term it will help to reach youngsters who are usually difficult to reach and involve in the international activities. It will contribute to the development of qualitative youth exchange projects and will also increase project quantity. Finally, the project will increase youth work quality in general and increasing participation of young people with and without disability in partners’ countries in a longer perspective.
