The project is to organise the intercultural theater workshop for the local community in Warsaw in June/July 2012, in Dom Funkcjonalny Cultural Centre. The workshop will be open for aproxmetly 30 participants, for everybody who is interested in the creative work, no matter the natonality, sex and the artistic experience. The project will involve Polish people, immigrants and refugees and will be concluded with the artistic event in the city space. We consider a theater an important tool to create common spaces - the project aims to create the spaces of a real meeting and dialogue between people, where working togheter through the theater helps breaking down the stereotipes between persons from different cultures. The project promotes the intercultural dialogue and aims in building the interdisciplinary methodology for the creative theater work with the intercultural group. The main activity of the project and the final performance will be concentrated on the themes of migration and political asylum, the participants by the artistic work will try to answer the questions what does it mean to be a stranger, the other. Before the workshop take place there will be a planning and preparatory period with its main activities during the Transeuropa Festival. During the preparatory period the youth involved in the project will have the oppurtunity to get to know better different artistic ways of creation: creative writing, streetart, storytelling, theater, role play game - that will be used in the theater workhop that they themselves will prepare and run. The whole project will be documented on the short documentary film made by the participants on how art and theater in particular can become a tool of the intercultural dialogue. The film will be used on the meetings of dissemination of results and for the educational purposes in the future projects of the foundation. The whole project will last for 6months, beginning from 1st of May 2012 and concluded 30th of September 2012.
