In recent years,nursing is rapidly moving forward in both terms of professional and conceptual in many parts of the world and Turkey.The need for nurses whom have the ability of teamwork,critical thinking and verbal and written communication skills is increasing.Year by year the technological developments has began the nursing care to reach the era and the European standarts. The aim of the health profession education must be have graduates who have core competencies beside acting ethicaly ,conscious of culture and focused on primary health care.
By this Project it has been a great opportunity for our students to see how the similar practices making in the developed countries and comparing the difference between themselves.Also they had the change to experience the difference of their practices and techniques, leraned new educational information before the 12th grade which they will reflect to their internships in the 12th classes afterwards. In this project, the participants were choosen from the students of 11th grade as to 15 boys and 15 girls to ensure the gendere quality and from Siverek and Ceylanpınar districts to provide equal opportunities.It has been an important experience for the students to be able to see the practises in abroad and participating in practices.They had the chance to share their experiences with the other students in the school and carry them to the institutions where they will work after graduating. Also they helped to increase the other students motivations about the profession in the school by sharing the pics and reports at the panos and making presentations that they prepared during the project. When we look at the purposes of the Project and the achievements that the students gained; they got the opportunity to practice on their field in two different countries in Europe. Students acquired knowledge about nursing, saw the nursing practice in Europe, besides medical treatment skills, they have developed the understanding of the patient care needs and the ability to perform. They had the opportunity to use technological tools in the field of health and understand the importance of empathy. They learned a different language and have developed their communication skills with foreign patients.They noticed the importance of team working, analytical and critical thinking, professionalism and life long learning for their jobs. They have realized that the significance of the Professional ethics while they were performing profession ,they have developed attitudes as to provide detection and adaptability to cultural differences and they begun to show this behavior in their internship and student life after returning to their country. The students were able to better monitoring their own progress by doing evaluation by self-assessment in the Project and they were well aware that the self-assessment without exam stress is useful for the personal development. After replacement, they draw attention and motivation to make this type of study with other students and to participate in them. In addition to the acquired cultural experience, it has enabled of understanding and acceptance of the religious, architectural, linguistic, cultural and social differences.The requirements and qualifications of the field have been experienced wtih this Project and the levels of students were observed by companions and by themselves.
The issues that students had the chances to practice during the placement and the health infrastructures in the different types of institutions that they examined, supported the students to have different experiences.In addition, when we look at the impact of the organization, it shows that nursing is perceived as professional in our country and there is no gender discrimination in our country which is open to development and learning. After the placement students had presentations according to there ports they wrote, the photos they took and the presentations they prepared within the framework of dissemination activities, first in their school after in the other schools and in the hospitals.By preparing presentations, they sent their work to the other schools and public institutions and to the secretary of general health and they have been examples of their work.They announced the project through local newspapers, they increased the interest in the Project by hanging tarpaulins and signboards. In additon, they distributed pens covered with our logo which have prepared within the scope of dissemination activities to the institutions and organizations. Studies have been announced over the Facebook by creating a group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/1401304780167932/). By these ways they increased the interest of this project at school and in other schools.
