Contents of this project:
Considering the needs of our province under the leadership of our Department, Yenişehir Belediyesi Kindergarten, Necdet Ülger Primary School and Alsancak Lions Secondary School will participate in our project contortium members. STEM which is the subject of our project Science, Technology, Engineering, Maths is an acronym formed from the initials of words. Our students will develop skills in science and mathematics, provide permanent learning and student engineering skills will be developed. This project will be STEM education, kindergarten class applications will be examined in the primary and secondary levels. STEM is a project that will allow students to practice in their lives. Connecting pieces for STEM, robotic mechanisms, taking by Directorate necessary construction materials such as sensors has begun the to distribute to members of the consortium pilot schools.
The aim of our project:
1. Use STEM applications in lessons and extra-curricular activities
2. Meet educational needs of teachers to use these applications
3. View experience of partner institutions
4. Make the transition to learning by experience
5. Educate individuals for STEM
6. PISA, TIMSS and TEOG; raise the average success in exams
7. Solve problems and develop scientific thinking skills of Kindergarten students at an early age
8. Develop students' skills in the areas of technology and innovation
9. Contribute to the growth of the sciences
10. Provide the participants the opportunity to learn about different cultures and help language development
11. Change attitudes of students and their interest in science and math classes in a positive way
The number of participants and profile:
Including how to actively applied in the course of our project STEM application, each consortium member with a total of 12 teachers and 3 participation of administrators, including four teachers and administrators from all the schools, 4-8 April 2016 date, training will be held for 5 days at the National STEM Center institutions in the UK includes activities. What is STEM In this course, STEM applications, courses and extracurricular effective use in activities, STEM Module STEM lesson plan preparation and in-service areas to be included in the stems of the training program will be trained. Yenişehir Belediyesi Kindergarten will attend with an administrator and 4 kindergarten teacher from kindergarten in Sweden on April 25 to 29, 2016, in forskolin Opal's kindergarten Necdet Ülger Primary from an administrator and 4 teachers 16-20 May 2016 Date of Spain Garai Elementary School and an executive Alsancak Lions Middle School two science and two math teacher Lithuania Simonaitytes Secondary School in the 06-10 June 2016 date in participating in the job shadowing activities for 5 days, where the education they receive observing that stems the classroom and outside of how to use it will make it more concrete.
Description of activities:
Our participants will complete first part of the project the project management team coordination in international education and job preparation activities. Above foals during the implementation phase of our project activity will take place. After the application, dissemination and evaluation of the work will be done. Consortium members of our school will be converted into STEM pilot school applications.
The methodology used in conducting the project:
Our project implementation will be carried out in accordance with the needs and expectations of the execution of the consortium members, will be moving in cooperation and communication with overseas partners. To ensure the highest level of efficiency and project-based learning methods are based on making and living.
Expected results and effects:
End of the project are expected to use effective STEM school and classroom practices of all participants. STEM materials will be supplied to us by the consortium member institution and after the pilot schools will be implemented across the province. Our institution has long been engaged in research on STEM education, teoge this system, the SDK and LYS exam results will contribute at least 20% think positively. In addition, students' scientific thinking, engineering, and use of technology will also develop skills.
Potential long-term benefits:
Our experience with the members of the consortium schools in STEM fields by studying the scope of our project, as a province-wide STEM pilot schools will be expanded in other schools. Turkey will be the future of STEM education will contribute to the growth of people qualified engineers and scientists.
