Automotive E-Learning with LearningBox

The LearningBox (LB) blended learning programme is a modern and innovative educational concept. It is the most recognised and awarded learning programme from The Netherlands, about 150 secondary schools, and colleges are using it. The LB combines the advantages of e-learning with those of traditional training courses. It consists of "automotive" E-learning and a unique training concept. Its wide recognition originates from its practical orientation, entrepreneurial content and high quality standards in e-learning and training. The programme’s target groups are pupils in VET schools and employees in garages.Since car techniques have become more innovative and complex over time, there is an increasing demand for well-educated workers in the garages. LB is an instrument that aids to achieve this objective. LB is an online system which contains specific work-orders. This content is continuously updated via an Internet connection by several selected providers of technical information. Work-orders are translated into practical assignments, ranging from basic knowledge and easy orders to complex theories of car techniques and big reparations and overhauls. Herewith work-orders guide users with their work on a vehicle at school or in the garage. During training users utilize the work-orders and knowledge for solving the demands and orders. The teacher and service centre manager provide the necessary support. The transferred product meets today's requirements, environmentally friendly. The LB is implemented in Hungary by a consortium which consists of six partners. The partners originate from Hungary, Spain and The Netherlands. The Hungarian partner coordinates the process. All partners are professionals with profound experience. They come from various segments of vocational and educational training. The partners implement conditions for a successful launch of LB into the national VET system of the target country. Herewith they offer solutions for many problems in the segment, such as low participation rate, variable quality of educational products or the limited scope of vocational educational programmes. Additionally, they translate and adapt the didactical texts to English and Hungarian language, taking into account the results of the analysis of educational needs, and the specifics. This means their task is to provide two new versions of LB e-learning, and a national know-how implementation team will be established. National concepts of blended learning are piloted and evaluated and the output will be placed into the national VET system. The LB enhances the interest to participate in VET in the target country and contributes to the high quality of outputs offered in the national VET system. From the European point of view, this project fulfils the educational aims of the EU regarding LLL, transparency, mobility and high qualification standards. The project fulfils the European priority: Promotion of the acquisition of key competences in VET.
