A school development plan for the strategic goals for our institution has been designed by the headmaster. The school's internationalisation and expansion of European contacts is one of the core issues. Many students at our school have a multicultural background. Therefore it is vital, to open their minds for integration and tolerance by intercultural students exchange programmes. New curricula in the field of foreign language teaching require further development of our didactic annual report and the integration of work-related learning situations in the classroom. Thus, we require new approaches to teaching, methodological and didactic ideas to meet the new curriculum in the area of foreign language teaching. The standardised language test of the ministry of education (KMK) is a tool to prepare our students for the European labor market. This year the examination on the proficiency level C1 in the field of computer science is developed by our school. The examination will be held in the whole of North Rhine-Westfalia. All teachers who are involved in these examinations must meet these new requirements. That is why we plan to send some English/ computer scientiest teachers to trainings in Ireland, Malta and Portugal to expand our European contacts and increase their competences. We hope to strengthen the teacher's qualification to accompany future students exchange programme. One teacher visits the course "In-service teacher training for teachers of non-native speaker" in Irland. The course aims to offer opportunities to teachers to further develop their English language competence, to refine their current teaching practices, to examine different approaches and methods and to develop materials for classroom use. Another aspect is that teaching of foreign languages in the dual system is job-related and has to be taught content related. In order to improve the quality of teaching our teaching staff requires qualification. Therefore, we are planning to send two teachers to the vocational training "ICT and free web tools, Another way to teach and learn" in Portugal. The existing partnership to the ESEN High School in Portugal should be intensified and contribute to future projects like offering a placement for the students in European countries. Three teachers are going to visit Malta to take part in “Technology and ICT Tools for Teachers working with CLIL“ and “Empowerment in ICT Skills - Making Use of Technology Tools." The exchange of teaching staff from other European countries will provide an increase in practical teaching skills, an enhancement of EFL expertise and an improvement of teaching quality. We also expect an enhanced ICT-competence through web-based learning with e-learning platform like Moodle and working with CLIL. Webnetworking and CLIL serve as a tool kit for continuous evaluation and improvement of classes. Students will benefit from this project and experience an increase in their competences and be motivated to participate in future exchange programmes. The participants of the course share their ideas with other colleagues and teachers from Europe in the Teacher Training Facebook Community and can disseminate their experiences in web-based EU-projects (CLIL4U, TOOLS etc.). A blog on Web-Lab and Etwinning will be used to disseminate the activities as well. We alsho hope to launch to further European eTwinning projects. European Unity targets at alignment of international educational standards. Cooperative exchange between teaching professionals on cultural and subject-specific level will provide valuable contributions to that objective. Teachers will increase their ability to accompany future students exchanges by this interrcultural experience. They will be able to organise and motivate students for future exchange programmes. To evaluate the project a Europass mobility is issued and a personal action development plan for teachers will be developed.
