Rechercher des projets européens

Auslandspraktika an der Max Eyth Schule Alsfeld
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The need for this project is based on the professional requirements in each target group. Foreign language assistants should develop sound foreign language as well as intercultural competencies to be successful at work. IT-assistants already work in a global network of software and hardware on a global IT-market. Nursery nurses more often meet children from foreign countries at the workplace and should be able to deal with their needs appropriately. This is also valid for social care workers for people with special needs. Last but not least bespoke tailors also work in a global market with global supply chains, design and marketing. Primarily, the placements foster personal competencies. The participants develop flexibility, initiative and the ability to work under pressure, cultural openness and tolerance against ambiguous situations. Furthermore, the improvement of listening and speaking skills is an important objective. Foreign language assistants also need the ability to read and write. As regards the vocational aspect the placement is between the first and the second year of their training course. The students are to test and advance their knowledge and skills through practical experience in the placement companies. Experiencing the European labour market and European mobility is the political dimension of the project. All in all there are about 30 participants involved: 21assistants, 5 social care workers for special needs and 4 bespoke tailors. Foreign language assistants find placements in general office administration. Jobs may vary considerably. A post with a tourist information centre, for example, will require the ability to communicate. Other companies offer jobs at the PC, e.g. maintaining the customer data base. IT-assistants usually work in network administration or media design, whereas nursery nurses are employed in primary schools or in nurseries. Project management includes the sound information and comprehensive preparation of the applicants both by teachers and placement students (alumni) of the previous year. Personal, social, professional and foreign language indicators are the basis of the selection of the applicants. The preparation itself takes place during lessons. During the placements the students are accompanied by teachers in their first week in England. Every participant is to write a report and at the end of the placement they are granted the Europass Mobility. Most important, the placements result in better self-confidence and in the improvement of foreign language skills. Also the students get a first feedback as to whether their training course will lead to type of job they will want to have in the future. Finally, the experience of being a foreigner is new to most of the students and should lead to more tolerance against foreigners in Germany.
