Since our school has put the focus on "Maritime Center Elbe Islands" for about three years, we want to sustainably work internationally on this topic. As a prerequisite for this, we can see the training of interested colleagues. The IfeL-Institute offered content appropriate courses on the topics: Intercultural learning and skills, EU proposals and executing as well as contacts with European schools, which a considered as a cooperation The started process of in-ternationalization of District School Wilhelmsburg it is not just about the skills development of individual teachers, but about the competence development of the whole school. The topic European and intercultural opening is taken up in the coming months in the school program of District School Wilhelmsburg and this new approach to European orientation is to be filled by appropriate targeted thematic training. One very important, long-term objective for our school is to develop the District School Wilhelmsburg as a European School. The participation in the seminar of five colleagues therefore gave an important foundation. By learning about different media, platforms and forums, we could find a new partner school in Denmark. The school in Humblebaek also deals with maritime issues in the school pro-gram, maintains collaborations with external partners on the topic of water and the sea and is very interested in a partnership with Hamburg and our school. Student exchanges are now to be carried out with short project units on various issues. In concrete terms, Humblebaek School will travel in May 2017, the first time with students to Hamburg. We do not want to take the substantive elements of a common EU application in the key action KA2 anticipate, rather is this first trip to explore similarities and differences. Similarly, we will be traveling in November 2016, a school class to Prague exactly to explore these issues with our Prague partner school. In the coming autumn holidays our project coordinator will confer in Lisbon with partners about the long term cooperation to local dolphin projects. So we begin the long way really to become a European school. To continue this way professionally, we will apply for another Erasmus + - Key Action KA1, as we will hold job shadowing for a good way to get to know us better, to work later targeted and sustainable. Through participation in the seminar we have learned basic strategies of project management. By additive training of intercultural competences through the seminar IfeL-Institute, we hope to be able to circumvent potential problems and to address the differences in the cultural standards adequately. In summary it can be said that the expected objectives and the expected knowledge were fully met through participation of our colleagues in the seminar "Building specific skills in project management and intercultural skills” to develop District School Wilhelmsburg as European School.
