At our new school, Gymnasium Trudering, whose set up is not yet complete, the quality of learning has to be professionalized. We have to find realible standards in organization , staff management and curriculum to offer our students the best educational background available.
By giving them responsibility we hope to enable them to take good care of themselves.
At the basis of this process are educational goals that have to be shaped by all the people involved at school - staff, students and parents.
For that many areas of resposibilities and the range of decission-making have to be defined.
By taking part in training course in Finland with its scientic lectures about school mangement, visits of schools, lesson participation, talks and discussions with head-masters about human resources, school organization, the applicant within the Project hopes to find insight into European quality standards and their practical organization as well as into democratic processes.
As the first steps taken at our school, which is in its second year, have little to do with the traditional Bavarian curriculum. I am looking forward to getting new international experiences which will encourage me to get off the beaten path. The stimuli of the course in Finland will certainly have a long-term influence not only on the students at Munich Trudering but also on schools throughout Bavaria by forming networks and issuing publications. We want to prepare our students for taking responsibility in a globalized world.
