ART4CHANGE
Date du début: 1 févr. 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Europe is urgently demanding innovative ways to empower and to motivate youth in order to help them face the new challenges that 21st century's life is presenting to them. Multicultural environments, quick and big changes in societies, lack of perspective for their future or forced migrations are just some of the difficulties that they have to handle, sometimes in daily basis. Performing Arts and specially theatre is a unique tool with plenty of benefits, not only in a personal level but also in terms of social work. It enhances creativity and both body and verbal expression of individuals, helping them to develop hidden skills and abilities that they might not be aware of. They represented social realities from their countries, expresing emotions, fears, sensations or doubts which helped them getting over these situations. In addition it improved their communication skills (both verbal and non-verbal), their self-confidence and their adaptability. For these reasons, we created ART4CHANGE as a tool to enhance creativity and both body and verbal expression of participants, supporting them to share and develop new skills and abilities in order to improve their daily basis work with youth. At the beginning of the Trainning Course, participants made a self-assessment of the competences where they felt more comfortable and which ones they needed to work with. Like this we ensured that each participant focused on his or her needs. In addition, we analysed (together with the participants) the current situation of their youth work in their country of origin, so each participant was able to adapt her or his learning process to their daily realities. This TC took place in Miramar (Valencia, Spain) around April 2015 with 31 participants from a range of very diverse countries such as Cyprus, Egypt, Finland, Germany, Iceland, Italy, Macedonia and Spain (Syrian could not participate as their visa was denied by the spanish government). The main objectives were: - To enhance creativity and both body and verbal expression of the participants improving their self-confidence. - To increase the capacity of youth workers by giving them new skills and abilities, making them capable of applying the learned methods with youth. - To create a space where participants can share and learn methods, tools, techniques and experiences in order to mutually improve their daily basis work. - To give them the opportunity of sharing their ideas and creating new partners and ideas in order to develop projects together within the Erasmus plus program. - To demonstrate them how Visual and Performing Arts can be an innovative way of improving their work and getting the interest of youth promoting the Erasmus plus program. In order to achieve the goals of this TC, there were workshops, activities, and practical exercises combined with some theory (non-formal methodologies). Some of the main workshops were about: - Performing arts: combining theory and practice, using all the performing tools available and starting from the very beginning (breathing, relaxing and activating mind and body, warming up, movementss and so on) as people did not need to have any previous experience. - Visual arts: creation of videos, photo edition, techniques such as ""time -lapse"", ""stop -motion"" and others. - Fine Arts (optional): Finally did not happen as there was not enough time or interest by any of the participants. And there was a final project (to be shown at the end of the TC) where participants divided themselves into groups in order to create their own audio-visual or performing art project with total freedom, using the learning outcomes from the workshops (and supported by the experts of each topic).
