ART vs HATE

The project ART vs HATE is a youth exchange involving 40 young people from 6 countries-UK, Italy, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Spain and Turkey . The profile of the participants is young people between 16 and 26 years old with different cultures, religions, ethnics, social and economical backgrounds and young people facing geographical and financial difficulties. Project dates: 10.10.2016 and 18.10.2016 Venue: Bansko, Bulgaria.The main aims of the exchange are:-raising awareness among young people and helping them understand better what hate speech is and that it can actually lead to like hate crime and other sequences -Informing young people how to efficiently fight against hate speech in non violent way -Presenting graffiti as an effective way to combat hate speech-Informing young people about NO HATE SPEECH MOVEMENT of Council of Europe -Stimulating the active participation of young people towards hate speech by inspiring them to become activists against hate speech. -Promoting tolerance, mutual understanding and dialogue between young people from different nationalities. Learning outcomes of the project:-knowledge on what hate speech is -get informed and aware on realities related to hate speech, sequences of hate speech and hate crimes- how to combat hate speech in a non violent way trough art using graffiti -information on actions to be taken to fight Hate speech and also information about No hate speech movementProject results/outcomes:-more young people engaged in No hate speech movement and activities-short promotional video from the project to promote NO hate speech activism, the project and Erasmus plus program - newspaper which will promote NO hate speech campaign, the idea of peaceful way to combat hatred trough graffiti, the program Erasmus+ and the project itself.-strengthen cooperation between the partners in the field of NO hate speech activism-more activities on local level related to no hate speech activism-promoting graffiti as a tool to combat hate speech
