AREAS+ Academic Relations between Europe and ASia
Date du début: 15 juil. 2013,

AREAS+ aims to provide international study, research and training opportunities to individuals at all academic levels with the goal of developing their qualifications and international experience, with attention to gender balance and participation of the socially or economically disadvantaged, while at the same time fostering the bilateral cooperation and mutual enrichment of the European and Asian partner HEIs.AREAS+ builds on the experience of the ongoing AREAS project. The Partnership, ensuring both geographical balance and academic excellence, is composed of ten European and ten Asian universities from Vietnam, Mongolia, Myanmar, Laos, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, India, Indonesia, Malaysia and The Philippines. The institutional cooperation built up among the partners in AREAS and other concurrent EMA2 projects represents a solid foundation for all AREAS+ implementation and management activities. The Partnership includes technical and comprehensive universities and offers a range of thematic fields of study that cover most of the regional needs and that have already proven to match the candidates’ needs in the AREAS project. The proposed mobility flows (183 versus a minimum of 120 for this lot) take into account the needs of the region and of the partners in terms of academic level, duration and range of academic disciplines, with the goal of maximizing the impact on beneficiaries and institutions. Mobilities are offered at all academic levels, with a focus on Staff mobilities that have the highest potential in strengthening relations among the Partner universities. TG 1 mobilities provide for exchanges among the European and Asian partner HEIs and will be distributed evenly among them, with the goal of developing their bilateral relations supporting the less experienced universities. TG 2 and TG 3 scholarships on the other hand are aimed at providing Asian individuals opportunities to study and perform research in Europe and obtain European university degrees.
