As a result of aging population, Council of Europe and European Parliament took a group of decision and put in to effect some policies including a group of practices in 2010. Active aging policies are defined as one of the important appliances to keep the old healthy, free, active and struggle the olds’ poverty of late time age. Employing those people by their capabilities will reduce their poverty risk by all means and voluntary activities will prevent their isolation from society. In the decisions of European Council we’ve mentioned above; it is advised for “Non-governmental organizations’ to perform voluntary services for the old and the addicted, aiming their welfare and prevention of social isolation, to encourage them by informing about healthy aging styles and to set up projects improving intergenerational cooperation”As a non-governmental organization, Uşak Okyay Youth and Sports club aims to conform to this recommendation and wants to do its bit in its activity field. Our club aims to prepare a project work both suitable for EU active aging policies and contributing to its activity field traditional archery’s introduction and dissemination. Uşak Okyay Youth and Sports club, Uşak Provincial Directorate of national education and Municipality of Uşak have set a consortium and built up ARCHTIVE AGING Project that will be coordinated by our club. At the case analysis stage, a survey was applied for the teachers above 50 that has been utilizing Uşak Teachers’ club’s social facilities and for the personnel of municipality above 50 about their information level on active aging and their willingness for learning traditional archery. Only 18 of 115 participants stated some knowledge on active aging. 93 of participants stated their willing to receive training on traditional archery.The Project ARCHTIVE AGING emerged from the specific aim of “improving active aging awareness by traditional archery in Uşak”. The Project, attaining this specific aim will contribute to the general aim of “ improvement of EU’s active aging policies”. The Project ARCHTIVE AGING will achieve its specific aim with two Project results via the planned activities. Those are;RESULT A- “Development of Traditional Archery Education Methods fort he old”RESULT B- “Building up awareness on active aging and tarditional aging in Uşak city”For each Project result, a group of activity is planned. Those are;Activitiy A1- Receiving training of Traditional Archery Trainer in EUActivity A2- Preparing Traditional Archery ModuleActivity A3- Giving Training for a group of 30, consisting of the teachers above 50(retired and active)and workers of municipality of Uşak, above 50 Activity B1- Organizing an international archery competition in Uşak Nomad(Yörük)FestivalActivity B2- Preparing and delivering brochures about active aging and Traditional ArcheryActivity B3- Setting up flashmob shows about active aging and Traditional ArcheryActivity B4- Organizing a panel conference on the subject; “Nature, sports and active aging”The mobility within the Project is planned as a 10-day-activity for participants’ traditional archery training of adults in Germany and Hungary as two floods. There wil be 13 participants, 7 of whom from Uşak Okyay Youth and Sports Club, 3 of whom from Uşak Provincial Directorate of national education and 3 of whom from Municipality of Uşak in the Project. Project participants will consist of;* the people who took part in traditional archery activities and improved oneself to be the archery trainer before *directors of institutions. Our participants need to learn the modern and developed programs and application techniques of Adult Traditional Archery Training in EU. By this trainers’ training program of participants’ in EU; this sport will be taught better quality and appropriately , also, adults’ acquiring traditional archery skills and setting this sport as a part of their social and cultural lifestyle will be achieved.
