An international APL period gives our students the opportunity for professional development, cultural exchanges, and language skills. In addition to individual skills, we see that the project will lead to the promotion of our school and the municipal internationalization strategy. The Erasmus project gives us the opportunity to support the achievement of the goals of internationalization under both the curriculum of high school in Malmö Idrottsymnasium and in Malmö Stads vision and strategy for employment and training of the citizens.Our professional training program contains at least 15 weeks of work-based learning (APL). The Erasmus project makes it possible to promote the development of vocational training in a larger perspective by offering students at Malmö Idrottsgymnasium vocational programs in Commercial Service an opportunity to conduct three weeks of their workplace-based training (APL) abroad.Teachers benefit from the project will be that we promote international contacts while pursuing the objectives set out in the school curriculum and the municipality's approach to education and the labor market in our region.Today's globalization is placing new demands on our students and our school. By APL abroad we are increasing our understanding, experience and competence in the following way:• Increased understanding of other cultures reduces prejudices and strengthens democracy and human rights• Students gain increased mobility of labor and thereby increasing employability.• The quality in vocational training, as new methods spread, thereby also increasing the attractiveness and status of vocational education.• Teachers and the school is developing the project its own operations, we learn from each other and gain new perspectives, which in turn leads to new pedagogical discussions.• Students are more motivated to achieve the objectives of their courses / training while giving them greater self-esteem and confidence in their ability to dare and act, work or study in an international market.• Student learning is promoted in a natural wayWe know that the APL abroad will benefit the school and students a lot, not least, it gives them the opportunity to improve their language and professional skills. They get easier a foothold in the European labor market. Profits for the school both locally and globally are substantial as it will contribute to increased interest and attractiveness of our education in the multicultural Malmö City.
