In the context of the ageing European populat° (23% of the EU27 pop are actually 60+ -EUROPOP2008) & massive feminine migration flows (50% of migrants in Europe are women -UN trends in total migrant stock - 2005), native senior and immigrants adult women suffer from multiple discrimination + absence of recognition & improvement of their skills & knowledge. Both have a vital social role in maintaining traditions & are therefore an invaluable source of knowledge that is poorly exploited.ALCE seeks to *improve senior &immigrant women key competencies *enhance the transmission to European communities of women's knowledge on non-tangible heritage -food traditional recipes & natural curative methods. *increase awareness in decision makers about the importance of recognition &validation of key competencesIts main activities, implemented in Italy, UK, France, Austria & Lithuania are:Phase 1-Preparation: Training of Trainers (ToT)/ Elaboration of the Guidelines for the Active Learning Training Course (ALTC)Phase 2-Training&Testing: ALTC targeting 60 to 90 women (3 levels: Local Modules, European training and European Roadmap of events on culinary&curative traditions involving 250 community members)/ Learning Mobilities of 15 women/ Creation of a Book gathering women’s knowledge.Phase 3-Evaluation: Local & European Evaluation of the ALCT/ Pedagogical Manual Creation/ Final Dissemination Seminar to 40 professionals &/ In-Service Grundtvig TC.ALCE include the creation of a website, a leaflet, 4 e-newsletters... Evaluation, dissemination and exploitation will be done transversally during all the chronological phases.ALCE will 1) enable women target to re-enter into the educational sphere + lead to better interaction, solidarity and wellbeing of these women & of the European communities 2) develop strategies for validation of key competences acquired through non-formal learning 3) improve the competencies for adult educators.
