Angered as well
Date du début: 1 août 2015, Date de fin: 30 sept. 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Project idea: The project Angered as well is largely about participation and democracy. The idea of the project is to encourage young people to an active democratic participation in society, at the local level as well as European. Background to the project: Angered is a area that has plenty of unemployed people with and without education, pretty much criminal rates, high migration and there is obviously so that many habitants suffers from a lot of more or less invisible obstacles to succeed. The postal code "Angered" has been an excuse to not even try to succeed. Many young people who live in Angered live in exclusion and find it difficult to feel like a part of society. The idea that they are also European citizens have not even crossed their mind. We came up with the idea that a project like this could change the attitude of many youths, as we encourage active participation in society. Rannebergen is the part of the angered our activities are located in. It lives here about 4600 residents many of whom are recent arrivals from different countries. While it is an immigrant dense area is also home to many xenophobic and there is some racism in the area. Therefore, we will also in the project, work with inclusion, and focusing on how we can in various ways try to counter racism and xenophobic hostility prevailing in the area. Objective of the project: our goal is to create an interest among young people to take an active place in a democratic way in society. We want our visitors are creating activities they wish, in a democratic way. We want to destroy the feeling of living in exclusion and instead achieve inclusion. We also want young people to understand that they are part of Europe and that it should exercise their discretion as European citizens. profile of participants: We want two participants who represent voluntary service with us. They must be at least 18 years. No previous experience is necessary, but we want them to have an interest in working with people, especially young people. Description of activities: Kooperativet Fjället is an NGO located in Angered that is a suburb of Gothenburg. Our goal is to create a meaningful leisure time together with yoths. During the evenings we have activities, and all the activities are based on the youths own wills and needs. Our main target is youths aged 13 up to 20 years. Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday between 17-22. Kooperartivet Fjället was founded in 1992 and our main target has always been youths, but now more we try in various ways to work with the entire area and we want to involve all residents in the local area so that we, together with them can contribute to a better area. Our international work is also very important to us and we put a lot of focus on it. Methods to implement the project: We will be using several different methods to accomplish the project. We hope that our volunteers also will come up with their own ideas and thoughts on how we could work on our issues. Mainly we will use different methods to provide young people with the opportunity to express themselves through music, art, media, crafts, etc. We believe that the best way to reach young people and to capture their interest by allowing them to do things they are interested in, and that way we can connect their interest to the issues we work with. Results and impact envisaged: We hope the results of this project to be that young people and other residents in the area have an understanding of what democratic participation implicate, and that they are aware of the opportunities they have to influence. Creating a sense of ownership among young people where they can express themselves in ways that suit them. To create a desire among young people to be part of the society in both local, national and european levels. Potential longer term benefits: We are absolutely convinced that after a project like this, we are having lot of new knowledge about these kinds of projects. We know that during the activity we will encounter ups and downs, and we will learn from it. So every time we are in a project, we will be better and better as we learn from both our mistakes and our successes. In the longer term, therefore, this project will lead to better understanding among staff, volunteers who have grown in a non-formal learning, and youth who have been inspired to EVS. Hopefully, other organizations become inspererade to start similar projects.
