Project background:The „Schule am Schwanhof“ is a school for children with a variety of special needs, a large amount coming from burdened and educationally alienated families, who are entitled to receive special education services. At school and at home multicultural contacts are common, needed, but not always without problems. The immigration of refugees is an added challenge.Project goal:Through the planned student exchange projects the students should be enabled to gather intercultural experiences that are positively connotated and therefore affect a positive contact in the daily context.Through participation in this particular continuing education seminar the opportunity exists that beside the increase in knowledge in the area of project management there will be the chance to establish contacts with interested participants from other countries in order to plan and carry out concrete student projects. Inclusive structures will be part of it. (see page 3)Number and profile of the participantsAt first there will be the qualification of the principal and a colleague, in order to be able to plan a concrete project for the students together with a work group. It is intended to plan a student exchange program for 10-12 students who are entitled to receive special education services. We would like to realize this together with the "Astrid-Lindgren-Schule" in order to further the cause of inclusion. This is a wish for our project partner.Description of the measure:Participation in intercultural project management continuing education seminarsAfter the seminar attendance, it is intended to plan a concrete exchange program. A group of 10 to 12 students will be given the opportunity to meet guest students from foreign countries in Germany as well as conduct a visit to the partner country. Age-based projects in adventure pedagogics or occupational career choice activities are concrete projects.Description of targeted results, outcome and potential long-term benefits:The seminar attendance should provide insights into project management and through intercultural contacts also in the substance of school systems for students with special needs or inclusive structures in other European countries. This should help to develop ideas for the own continuing work.Through the expansion of competences it is possible to help students master the long-term multicultural demands they will be confronted with.
