The AMiCo project addressed four main objectives:1. Testing of the implementation and usage of ECVET (the European system for accumulation and transfer of credit points in Vocational Education and Training) in the field of Elderly Care in the countries involved2. Transfer to Germany of the results of the DOI project “IQEA-Improving Qualification for Elderly Assistants” (Project Nr. 510449-LLP-2010-IT-LMP): the description of competences of the elderly care professionals for Italy, Poland and Romania ("learning outcomes") has been transferred to Germany, thus including the German profiles. Furthermore, the description of competences needed for culturally sensitive care - which were not included in IQEA - has been added within the framework of AMiCo. 3. Comparability of the job profiles and vocational activities in the elderly care among the European countries involved in the project through the development of a multingual Self-Assessment-Tools (AMiCo-Tool) in Romanian, Polish, Italian, German and English for the assessment of formal, non formal and informal acquired competences in the elderly care and of a multilingual web page (German, Italian, English, Romanian, Polish and Bulgarian). 4. Promotion of the mobility of qualified personnel in the elderly care sector in Europe. The AMiCo web page and tool not only offer information and orientation to Elderly Care professionals regarding the labor market of their receiving country. They also enable facilities of stationary Elderly Care, providers of ambulant care services and placement agencies in the field of Elderly Care, to hire personnel according to their professional competences and qualifications. Of course, the AMiCo products may also be used by organizations in the field of vocational education and advice, employers and key actors of the labor market (e.g. labor agency, job Centers).
