The Alyssa project is named after the first queen and founder of Carthage, Alyssa.The academic mobility scheme proposed (a total of 122 mobility covering all levels) aims to enrich the students & academic staffs’ experience through confrontation with other cultures, different pedagogical and scientific methods, and life styles; it has for objective to develop the “soft skills” that are of key importance for students’ employment. Beyond the management of students’ mobility, the Alyssa project aims to support Tunisian HEIs in their efforts for strengthening the global quality & international visibility of their training &research. Many project activities target the Tunisian junior researchers & academic staffs, for building up their capacities, so that they able to address the needs & challenges of their institution & country. The key thematic priorities are aligned with the needs of the Tunisian partner institutions. They focus on: Food sciences, Business, Engineering, Geosciences, Languages, Public Administration, Mathematiques, Informatics, Natural Sciences and Economics.The Alyssa project is a continuation & an extension, in Tunisia, of the Averroès project. The Tunisian partnership is composed of 11 higher Education Institutions, including a large number of smaller Universities and technological Institutes (ISETs), from the lesser-developed interior regions. 6 Tunisian associated partners & the Ministry support the project and reinforce its impact & visibility. The European partnership includes 8 universities from 5 countries (France, Italy, Ireland, Spain & Sweden). 14 European associate partners bring additional research &training capacities, as well as expertise in innovation transfer & entrepreneurship. The project is co-coordinated by the Universities Montpellier 2 University & Tunis el Manar. The Alyssa project is structured by a quality plan that underlines all project activities & guarantees excellent welcome and services to incoming students and staffs
