A network among Alpine shepherds’ Associations, regional administrations,research institutions, will organise common, trans-national and coordinated activities to promote and to preserve sheep and goat sector, its social involvement and its capacity to participate in the sustainable spatial development. Main activities are: data collection on spreading and asset of breeding activities, on the existing genetic heritage; inventory and evaluation of the areas suitable for grazing; development of regional and trans-regional strategies; implementation of a trans-national monitoring system for breeds; exchange of experiences and best practices; participation at international exhibitions; publication of manuals enhancing the contribution of pastoralism to environment; promotion of the shepherds social value and their integration within tourism and handicraft; training activities on marketing and e-commerce aimed to improve the competitiveness of sheep and goat products.
