Alpine Habitat Diversity (HABITALP)
Date du début: 31 oct. 2002, Date de fin: 30 oct. 2006 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The European Network NATURA 2000 demands the long term surveillance of natural habitats. As established in Berchtesgaden National Park, aerial photographs provide replicable and standardized methods for landscape surveillance on a scale of 1:10.000.Main objective of the project is to develop a transnational spatial database, which supports the analysis of alpine landscape, its structures, diversity and long term changes, particularly for NATURA 2000 habitats. The project activities comprise the surface covering census of landscape structures for protected areas throughout the alpine space, the delimitation of landscape structures by a common interpretation code and the compilation of census results in a transnational database. Integration of additional and more differentiated local data on special subjects into the common database will be possible. Analysis of landscape diversity and surveillance of habitat changes will contribute to a coordinate alpine planning and management.
