TERMINÉ
The project 'All Europe is reading. The promotion of readership' is realised in the primary school belongs to Zespol Szkol Publicznych in Kokoszkowy. The students learning there are aged between 5 - 12 y.o. and they live in Kokoszkowy and its surroundings. The main idea of the project is to develope teachers' language and technological skills, especially among teachers working with the youngest students to encourage them to learn English, read different books and stories and create attitude of being a part of a multicultural society. To gain these aims, project's participants will cooperate with all the teachers and students working and studying in ZSP in Kokoszkowy.Participants of the project:To the group of the project's participants belong teachers working in ZSP in Kokoszkowy: 6 teachers of early education, 1 English teacher in early education, 1 Polish teacher, 1 PE teacher and a school counsellor. All participants are well educated and work very activly at school as well as for the local community (they prepare a lot of different projects, workshops, performances,etc.). Their aim is to develop language skills (to the B1-B2 level), which allow them to take part in international educational projects in the future. The teachers also want to gain the skill of a proper and safe using of ICT during their classes and provide new educational materials and aids in their classrooms (e.g. some authentic materials, maps, books, magazines). The participants underline the necessity of intoducing some elements of European education and multicultural education especially among the youngest students during different classes and workshops. That should help to overcome prejudices originated from the lack of knowledge about different cultures and countries and to develope the skill of cooperation in an international team. Moreover, all the participants point to the need of self-development in the field of professional as well as social life.Description of activities:To the project's activities belong some pre-activities (a short English course, logistic and cultural preparation), mobilities of the participants (courses: General English, English for Teachers) and post-activities, promoting the whole project (e.g. workshops for another teachers from ZSP in Kokoszkowy and the community of Starogard Gdanski, workshops for children and their parents connected with art, dance, music, culture, extra English classes to develop language skills, reading meeting, competitions, etc.). All the activities will be described and presented on the school web page and in the local newspapers, the whole project will be systematically evaluated.Fulfilling all the steps of the project, the teachers will influence the quality of the school and improve its position on the local educational market because of the introducing of some new teaching methods and organising extra classes connected with children indyvidual needs and interests. Worthwile classes will motivate students to work harder and that fact will help them to improve their marks, which aloow the school to achieve a better position on the educational market. Active engagement in international projects will allow the teachers to introduce some elements of European education and multicultural education will help to avoid prejudices, overcome fears and open students' minds to differneces in the world, which will result in a greater motivation to learning languages. The school, orientated to the realisation of the direction provided by the Polish education system, will leave a space for realisation of its own aims, eventuated from the school documents, e.g. the statute. These aims connect with the promotion of readership and language learning, proper and safe using of the information technology, building the awarness of multicultural societies and creating the attitude of being a part of them and improving the teaching quality through better planning and realising the process of learning. Fulfilling all theses aims will allow the school to relise its educational mission, concluded in the words written by J.Korczak - "I'm trying to understand the children, not to harm they but create them conditions to become better. (...) A good man is the one who feels, what the other one feels!"
