TERMINÉ
All Different, All Equal - Remastered was an extension of an innovative training programme for youth workers (Erasmus+ Youth Key Action 1 – mobility of youth workers) combining elements of diversity training with digital media skills (photography, video, editing, social media). The project was co-ordinated by Praxis Europe, a Birmingham-based youth-led community interest company recognised for its expertise in youth empowerment, in co-operation with partners in EU and South-East European countries.
The project built on the success of the first ADAE programme which run in Birmingham between March and June 2015.
The main aim of the project was to train participants – 64 youth workers from different European countries (four per course to assure a balanced learning environment) – in the use of digital media tools in youth work, mostly through, photography, video, editing and social media to promote the positive image of cultural diversity. The project also developed participants’ skills in facilitating intercultural dialogue activities for young people.
Specific objectives of the project (all fully addressed) were:
- to develop competences of European youth workers, notably in the field of using digital media
- to develop transversal skills of young people by using non-formal learning to develop their digital media skills
- to increase recognition of non-formal learning by the formal education sector
- to promote young people’s active citizenship in general and European citizenship in particular by encouraging young people to be leaders in their communities
- to promote cultural diversity as a resource for our society and stress its positive sides;
Project activities included two eight-day residential training courses, first one held in Birmingham in March 2016 and second one in Tirana in May 2016. Both activities were based on non-formal learning methods including: intercultural dialogue activities, exploring UK and Albania’s cultural diversity through site visits and field work, digital media workshops and Erasmus+ project management and development workshops (detailed activity programmes have been attached).
Immediate outcomes and impacts of the projects include: increased participant competences, increased capacities of partner organisations, new partnerships and informal networks, new Erasmus+ project ideas, increased awareness of Erasmus+ Inclusion and Diversity Strategy.
Long-term impact: increased activity and quality of youth work activities in promoting cultural diversity using digital media, increased quantity and quality of partnerships between EU and SEE youth organisations and increased digital competence of young people through youth work.
