Ajattelutaitoja ja luovuutta kehittävän oppimisympäristön suunnittelu ja toteutus
Date du début: 13 août 2014, Date de fin: 12 août 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Planning and Developing a Creativity and Thinking-Skills based Learning Environment Rauman normaalikoulu is a Teacher Training School and provides basic education for 340 pupils aged 7-16. It also organizes teaching practice for the University of Turku, Department of Education, for 280 students annually. There are 30 teachers in Rauman normaalikoulu. The school’s main tasks are to organize basic education and teaching practice and to carry out in-service teacher training locally. Furthermore the teachers take part in research which is carried out by the University and develop research projects in co-operation with the university teachers. There is also an emphasis on further education for the teachers themselves since the teacher training school wants to offer up to date, high quality teaching. The Finnish core curriculum is changing and the new curriculum will be implemented in 2016. It emphasizes the importance of the learning of systematic thinking skills, creativity and problem solving. Skill in using learning strategies and reflection will help the pupils to face an uncertain future. The aim is lifelong learning which will be achieved by practicing the necessary future skills. Taking part in this project will give the school concrete aims and actions to write into the new curriculum. In addition to this the teaching of these skills will become an integral part of the teacher trainers’ own teaching methods. This will mean that they are in a strong position to offer trainee teachers a clear framework for how to integrate these skills into their teaching practice, and to guide them in the process. The school will benefit from this project in writing its own curriculum and in organizing further education in the curriculum process locally. This project gives the teachers time and space to develop their own skills in teaching thinking and problem solving in an international group. One’s own understanding deepens while sharing the experiences and concerns with others. Being a part of the international community which is developing the teaching of thinking skills and networking with them will make it easier to take part in international projects in the future. The new skills will help in the planning and implementation of further education. Two-part courses will reinforce the use of the methodology since there is practice time between the courses. The aim of the project is to deepen knowledge of the Thinking Approach, of the theory behind it (OTSM-TRIZ), and to learn to use concrete models and tools in teaching different subjects to children of various age groups. Four teachers will take part in three courses in France, Italy and Latvia 2014-2015 organized by the Latvian TA Group. One teacher is taking part in Storyline-course in Scotland. Four class teachers and one subject teacher have taken part in some workshops concerning teaching thinking skills organized by a colleague, who has taken part in courses earlier. The teachers were chosen according to their motivation and role at school in teaching different aged pupils. It is easier for a group of teachers to develop skills to ensure the continuity of the project in the future. The outcomes of the project will be knowledge, experiences and skills in teaching thinking skills. The teachers can pass the method on to the trainees and can guide them in using it, helping them to achieve a more profound awareness of the meaning of their role in building and implementing a creative learning environment. Teachers will share their experiences at the Rauma Campus, locally and on the www.ta-teachers.eu website. They will have developed their teaching so that it is more motivating and challenging, and so that there is time and room to reflect on strategies. They will have acquired the ability to plan lessons which develop the problem-solving skills necessary in the future lives of their learners.
