AIM HIGHER
Date du début: 1 août 2013,

The young people who will participate in this project are predominantly from the migrant community. On completing their secondary education most of them never seem to have direction on what to do next. A lot of them are under achievers in school and often lack support and direction at home due to various issues such as language barriers , absent fathers , illiterate parents and integration problems . Aim higher project aims to give the youngsters an opportunity to discuss , compare and tackle the issues that affect them such as unemployment and lack of engagement in further education through a multilateral 10 days youth exchange programme with youngsters from Sweden,UK, Denmark and Holland. The goal is to create a new perspective for students on the value of school and education for their individual lives and thereby produce a positive impact on attendance, grades, test scores, and eventually, graduation. The most important outcome is increasing numbers of students who are better prepared to cope with life, who have better skills and are more workforce-ready, and who have greater confidence in their ability to excel. For those not interested in further education , we aim to inspire and build understanding of other opportunities available and increase participation of positive activities by involving other young people and role models who can truly influence their peer group. We aim to empower every individual with a positive attitude, motivation, confidence, personal skills and awareness of different career choices, jobs, further education, employment and entrepreneurship. This will hopefully enhance/extend the young people’s future prospects that will aid in integration and being part of the wider European community.
