Advanced Cementitious Composites In DEsign and coNstruction of safe Tunnel Acronimo: ACCIDENT (ACCIDENT)

The project will study and characterize new materials for the construction of blocks of prefabricated tunnels, in order to limit, at an affordable cost, damage, in the mantle structure of road and rail tunnels, fire and / or explosion, events often mortal and in any case causing serious structural damage. We will investigate theoretical fibroarmati experimental materials and composite structures for the development of ties blocks to make them suitable to withstand high temperatures and pressure waves. the part experiment will be carried out by the laboratory at SUPSI Dynamat Canobbio, with the construction of specific equipment at the Polo Regionale di Lecco Polimi and some of the test small-scale tests of the fire brigade at the camp in Bovisio. Speakers include the Province of Lecco, 4 and 3 Swiss Italian private partners. / Il progetto intende studiare e caratterizzare nuovi materiali per la realizzazione di conci di tunnel prefabbricati, al fine di limitare, a costi sostenibili, i danni causati, nel mantello strutturale delle gallerie stradali e ferroviarie, dall'incendio e/o dall'esplosione, eventi spesso mortali e causanti in ogni caso gravi danni alle strutture. Vi sara un'indagine teorico- sperimentale sui materiali fibroarmati e su strutture composite, per la messa a punto di legami costitutivi idonei a farli resistere alle alte temperature ed alle onde di pressione. La parte sperimentale sara curata dal laboratorio Dynamat presso SUPSI Canobbio, con la costruzione di una specifica attrezzatura presso il Polo Regionale di Lecco del Polimi e con alcuni test in scala ridotta presso il campo prove dei VVFF in Bovisio Masciago. Interverranno la Provincia di Lecco, 4 partner privati italiani e 3 svizzeri. Achievements: The project (ACCIDENT) was intended to study new building materials able to resist to extreme temperature conditions and shock waves. These materials were to be used in production of preassembled tunnel section with the purpose of limiting damages created by fires and/or explosions of both road and rail tunnels.The project included a theoretical study as well as a field experiment through the creation of a specific test equipment (shock tube).
