In the context of the constant influx of migrants from Middle and East Europa to The Netherlands in recent years, whereas those coming from Poland have, arguably, been dominant and the most numerous, the need of supporting those who are not coping with the new chosen path is more and more imperative. Stichting Barka has been running support projects towards vulnerable migrants in NL since 2012: help in better integration, gaining employment and skills and also help in reconnection with countries of orogin to those who are in the most dramatic situations ( homeless, addicted). We are constantly developing our methods of work towards better social and vocational integration of migrants. The project will allow the vocational education and training professionals to have a greater understanding of the social, historical and local context and background of Polish migrants to the Netherlands; it will explain the motifs of their migration, and their mentality making work with them easier. Will enable them to have an insight in to the model of social work which is very different to the Dutch model, and allow to adopt it if suitable in the future in the Netherlands. Barka's models might be an interesting and useful addition to the professional knowledge in general aspects of social economy, which not only considers management of economic infrastructures, but above all highlights a good-quality management of social capital, also in crisis situation. The participants will gain knowledge about effective social and vocational education and reintegration models and how to replicate them to the Netherlands.Our aim is to continue helping disadvantaged Middle and Eastern European migrants to integrate well socially and vocationally within the Dutch society, when possible, but also, by constructing more fruitful partnerships with Polish social network and organisations.We propose a one-week training program at Barka Foundation in Poland for 30 participants working with the disadvantaged Middle and Eastern European migrants in The Netherlands (especially Polish). The training will take place in Barka Foundation’s models of social and vocational education and reintegration.The participants of the training will be our own staff that is involved in our vocational training and rehabilitation projects, as well as in the strategical development of the respectives projects but also our collaborators who are in a working relation with us based on voluntary agrreements. Among our collaborators, there are many Dutch social workers, policy makers, social and vocational education and training professionals, members of local city councils and health system whose day to day roles include the design or delivery of training, professional development or careers guidance to among others- disadvantaged migrants. Barka Foundation’s in Poland methodology, both in theory and practice, has been developed by professionals in a number of fields (psychologists, social workers, economists, lawyers, educational workers, etc.) over the period of twenty five years. Barka Foundations management, including the Sadowski family, is very dedicated and professional.The project will give the participants a better understanding :- of the context and background from which the migrants come to the Netherlands. It will certainly help them work more efficiently with Central and Eastern European migrants in the Netherlands.- of the posibilities to improve the recovery and inclusion of individuals in trouble. It will certainly encourage them to apply the successful model from Barka Poland: social inclusion through social economy.For the vocational education and training professionals that Dutch organizations, the visit will show models used in Poland, which could be possibly replicated to The Netherlands. The past trainings carried out within Leonardo da Vinci 2013 projects proved to already bear fruit in form of inspiration which led to transforming the approach of social workers in Utrecht towards disadvantaged migrants and there is a plan to create a ‘community project’ in Utrecht Utrecht based on Barka Foundation in Poland model.For longer time, the Project will be a good platform for transfer of knowledge, methods of work and experiences in vocational and social training methods.
