ACTng for Youth Employment

The project "ACTing for Youth Employment!" was an international training course where 29 youth workers, members of the initiatives and non formal groups, with extensive experience necessary for acting as multipliers, from Program Countries (Luxembourg, Italy, Bulgaria and Lithuania) and Partner Countries (Armenia, Georgia and Ukraine) increased their employ-ability skills; learned how to bridge the gap between skills and competencies of young people and demand for the employment. In the current world of globalization, young people are particularly vulnerable to instability of economic trends. According to data by European Commission over 5 million young people (over 25) were unemployed in EU in the second quarter of 2014 one of the reasons of it are significant skills mismatch on Europe's labor market. Accordingly the objectives of the project were: • To enable participants to support young people in looking for jobs, their right to access to information; • To encourage the participants for acting as peer educators in self-development and gainful employment through motivation, training and other necessary support; • To develop participants’ understanding of youth unemployment and social exclusion; to provide them specific tools and support to combat youth unemployment and social exclusion; • To empower the participants to organize the youth through voluntary youth organizations and motivate them to take part in community development; • To enable participants to take necessary steps for empowerment of the youth by providing skill development training and ensure their participation in decision making and national development processes. The training was implemented in Yerevan, Armenia at 14 - 21 of October, 2015. The main activities of the project were workshops, familiarization with the non-formal Education /Erasmus + / Youth Pass and their effect on youth employment, youth work approach on youth employment, designing career and supporting youth to design their career, volunteerism, social inclusion and peer education. As a result of the training course the participants created three video tools and methods of promotion of youth employment. Participants developed values and competences that promote youth employment and ensure their participation in decision making and national development processes.
