Active Women Inactivate Violence
Date du début: 1 mai 2015, Date de fin: 31 oct. 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Violence against women is, collectively, violent acts that are primarily or exclusively committed against women. Sometimes considered a hate crime, this type of violence targets a specific group with the victim's gender as a primary motive. This type of violence is gender-based, meaning that the acts of violence are committed against women expressly because they are women, or as a result of patriarchal gender constructs. The UN Declaration on the Elimination of Violence Against Women states that: "violence against women is a manifestation of historically unequal power relations between men and women" and that "violence against women is one of the crucial social mechanisms by which women are forced into a subordinate position compared with men. About a third of all women in the EU has experienced either physical or sexual violence since the age of 15, according to a survey by the European Union Agency for Fundamental Rights. The countries where women reported the highest number of incidences of physical and sexual violence were • Denmark (52%), Finland (47%) and Sweden (46%), states that are often commended for gender equality. • The UK and France reported the 5th highest number with 44% • The lowest incidences of violence were reported in Poland with 19%. However, the survey noted that the results may reflect the fact that some countries find it less culturally acceptable to talk about the problem than others. Therefore, with this project - Active Women Inactivate Violence- that was implemented between 1st and 9th of October 2015 in Diyarbakir, Turkey with the 23 participants as of 6 from Turkey, 6 from Spain, 6 from Italy 5 from Portugal we found the opportunity to discuss and find the tools in handling with the rise in terms of violence against women with young people. At the end of the project the works, experiences and workshops organized were filmed on by groups and put on social media sites such as youtube and facebook.
