Voluntary project "Active citizenship" is aimed to “wake up” local citizens, especially youth, from indifferent attitude to the reality. Nowadays a lot of Ukrainians don’t believe in justice, in power of ordinary citizens, in positive changes….The aim is to encourage youth to be interested and involved into social processes, improve the civil environment by participating in public and charity actions, volunteer activities and work of public organizations. Through "active citizenship" they learn about possibilities and tools of influence on development of our society, become conscious citizens who will not stand aside. The benefit for EVS volunteers is also obvious: they will learn about various methods of communication, non-formal education, they will get some practical skills in organizing activities, conduct educational events, grow personally and professionally by communicating with people, uniting them for the sake of one common goal, encouraging and motivating, being leaders and serve as positive examples of active, a little ambitious and goal-oriented young people. All this will give them benefits on the labour market after EVS completion.This group EVS project opens new horizons to self-realization for 6 volunteers from Italy and Poland who will implement the proposed activities and personal initiatives during 12 months on the basis of public organization "Center of the European cooperation" in Donetsk, Ukraine.
