Youth exchange "Active Citizenship: NGO + Political Participation + Media" will gather together 36 young people from Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Italy, Slovenia and Latvia to do some common activities in time of 22nd of August till 30th of August. The main aim of the youth exchange is to share experience of youth inclusion into society, activities of NGOs. What is more, this project aims to listen and hear the expectations, attitudes about political participation and active citizenship of young people who are not active participants in the activities of any NGOs. Furthermore, the creation of inter-cultural dialog and promotion of democratic, political processes will be encouraged during the project. In addition, finding the most effective ways of reaching a young person using media is also a vital tool not only to manage an organization in these days , but to increase active citizenship in regional, local, national and international levels, as well. In this project the participants will be given a chance to meet and take part in the discussion with the youngest members of the Parliament of the Republic of Lithuania and Vilnius municipality Council as well as professionals from media sphere. Young people from 16 to 21 years old will develop and improve their skills of creativity while working with social media, video making, article writing and in other non - formal education activities. In order to find effective methods to solve the problem of low level of youth active citizenship, participants will share their experience concerning this field, develop interesting aspects of political processes, ideas, opportunities and highlight the importance of it for every citizen of the state. Comprehensive and versatile results of the project will be promoted using various methods developed by participants and new media channels. Hopefully, the knowledge and skills gained by the participant will be used to ensure that more young people will involve themselves in these meaningful extra - curricular activities and active citizenship; political participation levels among young Europeans will be increased.
