Action for the Dissemination and Adoption of the MARTE and related Standards for component based middleware (ADAMS)
Date du début: 1 mai 2008, Date de fin: 30 juin 2010 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The standardisation of the "UML profile for Modeling and Analysis of Real-Time and embedded Systems" (MARTE) in June 2007, has been a great success following a European initiative pushed by CEA LIST, THALES, Cantabria U. and supported at international level by big enterprises like Alcatel-Lucent, IBM, Lockheed Martin, tool vendors like ARTISAN, MathWorks, Mentor Graphics and academics as Carleton U., INRIA and SEI / Carnegie Mellon U.The challenge now is to disseminate, promote its adoption through the European industry and trigger enhancements reflecting the practitioners' needs. This is essential for Europe due to its very strong economic activity in development of embedded, real time and distributed systems. The risk is that this standard being adopted now internationally would be more quickly adopted by US or Indian actors than by European, while the fundamental effort has been performed and strongly pushed mainly by the European initiators. The objective of the ADAMS project is to organize and support the dissemination and feedback activity around MARTE in Europe, focusing on transportation domains (automotive and avionics).A key point for its adoption is to demonstrate and convince about its conformance, usability and efficiency to deal with current middleware technologies used by the embedded system industry, and adapt it as necessary to related standards of the automotive and avionics domain (strongly structured, respectively, on AUTOSAR and the IMA/ARINC and SAE-AADL).ADAMS wants to exploit the "momentum" created among European industrial partners, tool vendors, and the real-time research communities around MARTE. It targets the necessary dissemination and training activities as well as the efforts to promote the adoption of MARTE and related standards and bring feedback from the European industry into the ongoing refinement process of the UML profile for MARTE in synchronisation with other works on the domain related standards (AUTOSAR, SAE-AADL...).
