ACTING... IN PROGRESS

In this project students (14 - 17 years old) from different countries have investigated about how the society in the different countries taking part in the project behaves concerning men and women. They've tried try to find out about the roles of men and women in the communities of the partner countries. And at the end of the activity, they've portraited typical men and women's profiles in the partner countries. The whole process have been developed in the following way:The students started investigating about the roles of men and women in their own countries. They did this by preparing some questionnaires which they used in order to get some information to write their role plays. Teachers proposed the main topics for those role-plays.In the following step, students started writing their role plays basing them on the information they had researched with the questionnaires. Then, they rehearsed and prepared the clothes and scenery in their own countries. Teachers have made a continuous evaluation of the process and they have also revised their students’ role plays. There was a role play performed by each country in each visit, after the performances there were discussions where students learned about the culture of the other countries. The students were living in other students' houses. Therefore they were able to learn about the culture of the different countries they visited. When students got back from the visits or while they were preparing the project in their own countries, they also had the chance to express their ideas, thoughts, suggestions… on a website related to the project.(http://actinginprogress.weebly.com) Apart from the website, we've also produced DVDs, posters, texts as role plays, scenery, questionnaires, logbooks, minutes, the logo the project, newspaper articles about the visits, etc.
