Achtsamkeit - eine neue Qualität in der Erwachsenenbildung
Date du début: 1 juin 2015, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

The felt increasing speed of change and complexity of living conditions in general leads within many organisations and with many people to uncertainty and stress. In LIMINA we have a lot of experience and competence in training people when it comes to these topics as well as in facilitating processes of change and transition and transmitting respective theories and concepts (such as Theory U, tolerance of ambiguity and diversity as well as liminality). One aspect we have not been paying enough attention so far in our work is the "slowing down", "becoming more aware" or in other words becoming more mindful - an aspect which can support people in dealing with stress and uncertainty. Mindfulness has become quite popular as a practice, method and attitude over the last 10 years. We consider it a very relevant addition to our work. Integrating mindfulness in our approach has started with a learning mobility last year and we wish to continue and specialize this year. We want with LIMINA on the long run become a competence center in Austria for mindfulness practice in educational contexts (adult education, non formal and formal education). Concretely we aim at developing further training courses for teachers, adult educators and social pedagogues on how to integrate mindfulness into their educational contexts. This development plan is being accompanied adds supported predominantly by two important partner organizations of LIMINA: * Trainingconsult.dk with her founder and leader Mette Bram - since the beginning she is our mentor for the development of this new activity field "Mindfulness in education". * mindfulnessinschools.org in Europe is currently the leading provider for programs in this activity field. That´s why in agreement with our mentor Mette we had decided for attending a training course of mindfulnessinschools.org - concretely a ".b certification course". With this learning mobility we were trying to achieve the following aims: * Development of a clear understanding of the specific challenges when integrating mindfulness into educational contexts. * Getting to know approaches and methods being specifically suitable for educational contexts. * Inspiration and encouragement for developing innovative further training courses for educators from different contexts here in Austria through getting to know particular projects. * Networking with experienced practitioners as a resource and possible partner for future strategic projects in this area on European level. Paola Bortini and Peter Hofmann, the two directors of LIMINA, in person have participated in this learning mobility. Both have a long and outstanding experience with non-formal education on European as well as on national level. Paola and Peter are the driving forces behind the development of this new field of activity for LIMINA and are involved in it since the beginning. The participation in this training course in combination with the supportive mentoring of Mette Bram has more than fulfilled the identified aims and expectations. Both, Peter and Paola, returned from the ".b certification course" very inspired and full of ideas for the implementation of the new activity field of LIMINA. They not only learnt many valuable methods for integrating mindfulness in an educational practice and received high quality materials but also benefitted from the very experienced group of participants. Based on these positive mobility experiences LIMINA has immediately started in 2016 to found a network with two other experts in Austria for offering mindfulness related activities to educational actors. Since May 2016 we offer a monthly meeting in Vienna for educators wanting to know more about the potential of mindfulness related activities. We have also offered already some starter workshops for educators in Vienna. Furthermore have we become part of a newly established platform called "Pädagogik der Achtsamkeit" centered around the center for teacher-training of the University of Vienna.
