“ACHIEVE” - innovative methods for training and development of youth workers

“ACHIEVE” - innovative methods for training and development of youth workers is designed to support the development of quality youth work in the participating countries. As known Bulgaria, Romania and Cyprus are among the EU countries where the youth sector is in the initial stage of development. Youth policies are under development and no national strategies for Youth work exists. However, in all three countries in the cooperation between NGOs, educational institutions and government authorities (ministries and agencies) are made steps in the sphere of development of the youth sector.In this context, projects like this are important for building high quality standards and the development of youth work.The project team is composed of experts at European level with extensive experience in the field of non-formal learning and youth policies. Experience in international youth work is crucial to create a stable basis in the participating countries related to the training of youth workers to adequately address the needs of young people.The aim of this project is to stimulate high quality youth work among specific stakeholders and actors in the youth field in order to better enhance the competences of the youth.The objectives of the project are:1. To reduce the gap between the personal and professional needs of the youth workers, towards more fulfilling careers in the youth field.2. To develop innovative approaches (methodologies, tools and practices) for personal and professional development of the youth workers for better serving the youth in general and disadvantaged youth in particular.3. To use innovative approaches (positive psychology and education and eco-centric development) in professionalization of youth workers and to adapt this approaches for better services of disadvantaged youth.4. To increase the on-going support and lifelong learning for the personal and professional development of the youth workers.)By different activities in the project – short term learning activities, multipliers events, online platform and disseminating intellectual outputs we will address huge number of youth workers and young people. Directly with activities that we will implement in the project we will affect 1224 people.Through this project we address modern innovative trends linking formal and non-formal education. Developing methods for applying for the first time in youth work of innovative approaches (also modern trend in education) - positive psychology, positive pedagogy, eco-centric learning, eco-centric development.The project is addressing the training and development expert youth workers to provide quality services for young people from marginalized target groups, supporting the implementation of the labor market and support a multicultural environment. Support to the professionalization of youth work and setting of standards for quality and performance.This project is creating innovative integrated approaches in youth work to address the access, participation and performance of disadvantaged learners and facilitating their transitions to the world of work.Our integrated approaches in youth work are:- Positive psychology and education- Eco-centric youth work- Tools and practices for personal developmentWe integrate a. psychology, b. ecology / nature and c. personal development for the world of work.Intellectual outputs of the project are based on the principles of non-formal education and the use of modern communication technologies. Thus developed pedagogical models will reach a maximum number of youth workers and will be easily integrated into their work with youth. Manuals and training programs will serve to improve the qualifications of workers in the sector.Interactive multilingual internet platform on the one hand will serve as a database of training programs, good practices and resources related to youth work and non-formal learning, but will also serve to create a community of youth workers to support and develop in social environment. Innovative functionality in the platform will be the ability to integrate individual and group training plans based on individual learning needs of the user.Thus, through an integrated approach, targeting the development of quality standards in the sector, intellectual outputs aimed at completely unknown and innovative approaches in the field of youth work (positive psychology and pedagogy, eco-centric youth work) and using ICT the project meets the priorities of the Erasmus + programme in KA2 Strategic partnerships.
