Accompagner les élèves à devenir citoyens européens
Date du début: 1 juil. 2014, Date de fin: 30 juin 2015 PROJET  TERMINÉ

For several years, Marcel Grillard School, located in a rural environment, is willing to expand its standing world-wide. So far, the school has managed to make its partnership with Germany and The Unites States durable and would like to expand its relationship with other european partners, such as Great Britain which is so close geographically. Mrs Dorléans (English teacher), like all the teachers in the school, willing to guide the teenagers towards a wider international openness, would love to take part in this one week immersion course in Scotland to be able to achieve the necessary tools to complete successfully her goal as well as the school's which is: help the students to become european citizens. Some actions have already been put in place in the school, like the opportunity given to children in 4e and 3e (aged 13 and 14) to take part in a weekly ''Maths in English'' lesson of an hour. Pupils in 3e can also choose to do a ''Citizen debate"" course in English in which they debate about sustainable developpment, European integration, evolution of society... and at the end of the school year, pupils can volunteer to take part in an inter-schools ''citizens debate'' organised by the departmental council. At the end of this immersion course in Scotland, Mrs Dorleans will have: - achieved a better understanding of contemparary Britain. - achieved a better methological expertise in the teaching of English to teenagers. - enhanced a discursive skills and updated her vocabulary. - discovered new computer tools and other ICT ressources. But she will also have to be able to put her newly developed skills to good use by sharing them with her colleagues and by providing good quality courses to her students. The results of this project will also be circulated in the local papers and among teachers who teach English. We hope that this training period will be an opportunity for Marcel Grillard School to put in place sustainable partnerships with other schools and to guide the teenagers to become European citizens.
