ACTIVITY: Youth exchangeVENUE: Navacepeda de Tormes (Avila)DATES: 2 - 10/01/2017COUNTRIES INVOLVED: Spain, Morocco, Italy and BelgiumNUMBER PARTICIPANTS: 52AGE: 13 - 18 (with exception of the participants with special needs)PARTICIPANTS' PROFILE: young people in risk of exclusion and/or fewer opportunities, with basic knowledge of English language, school problems at academic or social level.PPROJECT' DESCRIPCTIONThe project is focused deliberately on young people with fewer opportunities, learning or other difficulties in combination with a low level of English.As the linguistic barrier will be bigger than normally, we have decided together with the youngsters, members of the AJS youth group, that it should be worked through art, as the artistic expression itself is already a way of communication. Besides art is an international language and is easily accessible for all. At the same time the project' activities will be accompanied every morning by a linguistic workshop, aimed on the vocabulary of the activities of that day. The aim of the linguistic workshop is to facilitate the communication among all.The Academy of Dreamers is settled into the ancient Greek world and its 9 muses.OBJETIVES- To facilitate the access of young people with less opportunities and learning difficulties into the European projects. - To increase social and communicative abilities- To higher up the young people' self-esteem through this new experience and new abilities acquired- To facilitate a free expression through art- To improve the communicative abilities in English language- To increase the future perspectives of young people with less opportunitiesMETHODOLOGYThe methodology is based on the non formal education principles, facilitating and structured but flexible frame for the learning process' development of the participants. Following you can see the details of the most important principles which will guide the activities:- Importance of playing and experimenting- Importance of group learning process- Horizontality in the relationships- Balance between the theory and practiceBesides the AJS youngsters, members of the coordinating organization are actively involved within the design of the activities and program in general. This is why they will be responsible of some part of the program during the youth exchange. With that we achieve an active attitude and we prevent them of being just simple youth programs' consumers.The partner organizations are responsible of certain activities of the program, previously accorded on. At European level:A better understanding and intercultural tolerance, which means reduction of xenophobia caused by ignorance and a narrow view of mind. Young people better prepared and good and realistic view in their capacities and potential and knowledge of the opportunities within EU.Better understanding of the EU.
