A szakképzést érintő hátrányos jelenségek, korai iskolaelhagyás csökkentése a tanári kompetenciák fejlesztésével
Date du début: 1 juin 2014, Date de fin: 31 mai 2016 PROJET  TERMINÉ

Summary of the project ”…it is our special obligation to help those who will benefit the most from our efforts…” Marie Curie WEXEdU Foundation clearly indicated in its deed of foundation to support and enhance the process of European integration of vocational education. We are dedicated to cooperate with our international partners in order to share best practices, methods and procedures with Hungarian teachers which proved to be useful in European education and could be adapted and used in the Hungarian system, while they may also generate further developments in the schools. Through the implementation of this project such knowledge can be transfered to vocational teachers and trainers which could help the integration and prevent the drop out of socially disadvantaged students taking part in vocational education. We are all aware that a very high percentage of these students are struggling with learning difficulties, behavioural problems and other disadvantages due to their socal backgrounds. We are cooperating with three partner institutions abroad who have many experiences in this field. Inclusive education has a long history in the educational system of all the respective countries, therefore they are familiar with the methodology of differenciated education, project work approch and preparation of individual learning plans. Our partners in Finland, Germany and in the United Kingdom help the implementation of the project by involving local schools, training centres and other social institutions. The one-week study visits have both professional and pedagogical-methodological focus, as the teachers and professional leaders of the Hungarian vocational schools (30 participants in total) would visit European vocational schools, training centres, workshops where they would gain insight into the vocational educational system of the given country, besides they would be observing classes, practical workshops, consulting their European colleagues while concentrating on the special methodology and procedures applied in the case of disadvanted students and students with special needs. The professional and pedagogical competences of the participating teachers would improve through these activites. We will select teachers and trainers to participate in these study-visits who did not have a chance to take part in European programmes and work in schools where the percentage of students with special needs is minimum 20 %, where integrated education is taking place due to the opinion of the educational expert or the school is offering special education for students. We would give priority to teachers who apply from schools which are in disadvantaged towns, villages and where the students live among extremely difficult social circumstances due to high unemployment rates in the region. The foundation prepares a work programme together with its partner institutions abroad which will introduce good practices that help to prevent early school leaving, give examples how to prepare individual development plans for students with special needs, show how students with learning difficulties can be motivated with special teaching methods using project work approach. The participants of the study visits would represent all the key actors of vocational education, and come from different institutions making sure that we provide equal opportunities for all the participants to gain an understanding, information and experience in the given field. The beneficiaries of the project coming from different schools will be able to help each other in the adaptation of the methodology to the Hungarian circumstances and reality. The foundation will organise a training and team building linked to the project topic in order to prepare the participants for the visit abroad. The foundation will organise the travel, accommodation and meals for the group. A mentor will assist the group on behalf of the foundation who will follow-up the stages of the project implementation and will assess the project together with the participants. The foundation ensures the dissemination of the project results and makes sure that the public is informed about it. The project supports the participants to adopt the highly valued methodology of inclusive education well-known in the EU which enables those young students to get a vocational qualification who would otherwise drop out from the school system.
