PROJET
TERMINÉ
The main aim of the current project proposal is to create a strategic cooperation and networking between youth organisations from different regions of EU (Belgium, France, Italy) and Asian countries (Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand) through the topic of promotion of healthy sexual behaviours among young people, using this as a great tool to improve young people’s Key Competences, empower them for implementation of personal ideas, taking initiative in own hands, and thus having also an essential impact of their place in the labour market in Europe and in the Partner countries. In this project, we propose an innovative approach by giving a voice and actions to young people themselves in an intercontinental context, enabling young people to take ownership of this area of prevention of STIs and teaching safe sex behaviours, to build their own tools and means of communication to contact their peers in an innovative approach, responsible, civic and voluntarily behaviours. This project is going to be a unique in its kind when the peer education on health issues is going to happen at a wide intercultural scale. The project will bring together almost 80 young people and will have the direct impact with its outcomes to more then 5000 young people around the world. Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) constitute a pandemic and affect all populations, but it is the young who are the main victims. 50% of new HIV infections in the world, for example, occur among young people between 15 and 25 years (UnAids report 2013). The consequences of such infections are dramatic for the future: heavy and mandatory drug treatment for life, emotional shock to be assimilated by the young, his family and entourage, forced sexual behavior change, change of future prospects, social dogmas, etc. This is why we considered the topic of a high importance that is unfortunately often neglected in most of international cooperation initiatives. We will use the topic of health as a tool in order to work with young people and help them to develop such competences, as adaptability, sensitivity, project management, facilitation, empathy, critical self-awareness, entrepreneurship competences and much more.In order to help them to develop these competences, we will organize three “sex responsible seminars” where young people will get concrete tools and knowledge how to tackle the issue and become the ambassadors of healthy behaviours to their peers, not only back in their countries, but making this internationally. A sequence of online webinars, supported by a professional trainer in this field will be an innovative and very efficient tool to pass the competences to young people and motivate them keep active and implement local initiatives and realize campaigns. The publication, issues at the end of the project, as well as the web platform created in order to give the training and meeting space for all the stakeholders will become ensure the sustainable effect of the project.
