A nossa Escola TEIP: Trabalho, Esforço, Impulso para o Progresso.
Date du début: 1 juil. 2016, Date de fin: 30 juin 2017 PROJET  TERMINÉ

This school project is deeply rooted in a TEIP domain (Território Educativo de Intervenção Prioritária / Educational Territory requiring Priority Intervention) dealing with general, vocational and professional courses for students coming from poor and severe social and family backgrounds. Serious problems, such as drugs, alcohol, discipline issues and teenage pregnancy affect students’ learning and bring about early school leaving; therefore, the school has created a specialized Bureau, where a psychologist and other experts provide help to students and their families.Bearing this social context in mind, the aim of this school project is to enable participants to acquire specific skills in order to develop new strategies in a European educational network and reduce early school leaving, which is one of Europe 2020 goals. The project is expected to improve the quality of participants’ school work; to improve participants’ communication skills in foreign languages, contributing to multilingualism; to enhance technical competences concerning conflict management and social skills; to allow the contact with innovative projects that aim the reduction of unequal opportunities, especially among young people with special educational needs; to promote innovative educational methodologies; to improve school management skills; to widen cultural and educational knowledge in order to deal with social, linguistic and cultural diversity; to improve students’ basic skills; to apply ICT resources in teaching and learning processes. In conclusion, to empower the participants in ways that promote meaningful changes regarding entrepreneurship, ICT, multilingualism and professional development. The participants were strategically selected to meet the school's identified needs and will profit from Europe's cultural, human and scientific potential, promoting the principle of life-long learning, while articulating formal, non-formal and informal learning experiences. They will seek cooperation with the schools in the host cities (benchmarking), promoting synergies and mutual enrichment. With this relevant project, our organisation aims a more modern and dynamic school environment, integrating new pedagogical approaches and methodologies, which will be reflected in the cooperation with the community. In the medium and long term, our European project will be an asset for the school, as the constructed knowledge and the new skills will be integrated in the daily professional life of students and teachers, after dissemination activities take place.
